Do Garden Worms Like Coffee Grounds?

If you drink a lot of coffee, there's a good chance you might be throwing away your used coffee grounds. Now you can start using your coffee grounds in the garden. And the grounds are a good source of nitrogen whether you add them to your compost bin or directly to your garden soil.

Use Coffee Grounds in Garden

To use coffee grounds in a garden, simply till them into your garden soil with your garden tiller or use them as a mulch for garden plants. To use coffee grounds in your compost bin, mix them in with carbon rich material as the coffee grounds have a C/N ratio of approximately 20:1.

If you don't have your own compost bin for composting, there are plans on the internet where you can learn how to build a compost bin. A homemade compost bin is usually very inexpensive and does the job just as well as a commercial outdoor compost bin, if not better.
